OCT 7, 2023 - ISRAEL MASSACRE
In the depths of recent tragic attack of Israel on October 7th 2023, I was shocked at the images I saw.
My soul was shaken by the haunting body cam footage leaving a chilling truth of senseless loss.
I came across the harrowing scenes of the Rave massacre of innocents.
But amidst this darkness, other disconcerting images emerged, such as two trans activists dancing in support of the very violence that had claimed so many young lives.
'Western civilization is what gave the world pretty much every goddamn liberal precept that liberals are supposed to adore.
Individual Liberty, scientific inquiry, rule of law, religious freedom, women's rights, human rights, democracy, trial by jury, freedom of speech, please somebody stop us before we enlighten again...
And since one can fine all these Concepts in today's Israel and virtually nowhere else in the Middle East.
If anything the world would be better place if it had more Israel's.'
In the tapestry of human history, certain threads stand out as vibrant hues that weave together tales of resilience, creativity, and the indomitable spirit of unity.
Among these threads, the Golden Age of Cinema emerges as a radiant strand, painted with the brushstrokes of Jewish musicians, actors, directors and movie executives.
Against all odds, the Jewish culture shaped and influenced
an era that not only exported the American Dream but also exemplified tolerance, diversity, and the ability to unite disparate voices to achieve prominence on the Silver Screen.
In the first half of the 20th century, when the world was gripped by the desperation of poverty and the chaos of war, the American Dream found its wings through the lens of Jewish filmmakers.
Their influence transcended borders, carrying with it a celebration of the human spirit and at the heart of this cinematic revolution was the ability of Jewish culture to harmonize with individuals from every walk of life.
Black musicians, gay songwriters, and people from diverse cultural backgrounds were not merely collaborators but essential contributors to the creation of some of the most iconic movies of all time.
The rise of the American Dream on the global stage was, in many ways, a tribute to the harmonious collaboration between Jewish movie executives and creatives from all walks of life; born from a sense of inclusivity which is rooted in Jewish culture.
They shattered the boundaries of convention, creating a cinematic kaleidoscope that reflected the mosaic of humanity.
Against the backdrop of the October 7th attacks on Israel and the subsequent rise of Antisemitism in America and around the world, it becomes crucial to illuminate this beacon of truth.
In response to the darkness, I have chosen art as the medium to tell this story.
Through painted portraits of Golden Age Movie stars turned into NFTs, I aim to celebrate a culture that not only saved an industry but, in doing so, left an enduring mark on the world.
